Ferrari Roma vs. Ferrari Amalfi

A New Era of Grand Touring
A Ferrari’s desirability lies not only in its performance, but also in the elegance and identity it projects. Few models capture this elegance better than Ferrari’s grand tourers.
The Ferrari Roma introduced a modern vision of La Nuova Dolce Vita, and now the Ferrari Amalfi carries the story forward. Named after two of Italy’s most iconic destinations, both cars embody the beauty, character, and heritage associated with their names.
But is the Amalfi simply the new Roma… or does it represent an entirely new evolution of Ferrari grand touring?
There’s no distinct answer, but the characteristics lie between continuity and innovation. The Ferrari Roma established a precise formula: timeless proportions, understated elegance, and exhilarating performance in a versatile 2+ coupe. The Amalfi preserves these qualities while innovating with a sharper design, increased power, and more advanced technology.
These models feature a front-mid-mounted 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Roma produces 620 cv and accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, while the Amalfi increases output to 640 cv and reduces that time to 3.3 seconds, creating an even more responsive driving experience.
Their personalities, however, extend beyond performance outputs. The Roma’s smooth surfaces and classic proportions evoke the effortless elegance of Rome. The Amalfi appears more sculpted and assertive, with a cleaner front design and an active rear wing that enhances stability. Internally, it also presents a more natural edge, physical steering-wheel controls, and updated connectivity.
The Amalfi can therefore be considered the Roma’s successor, but not simply its replacement. It preserves the sophistication that made the Roma distinctive while adding a more dynamic and modern character. The destination may have changed from Rome to the Amalfi Coast, but the voyage remains Ferrari.
A Ferrari innovates by reinterpreting, not replacing, itself, making it the luxury of owning a Ferrari.
