Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale
Ferrari’s Special Version cars push the performance of its production models to new extremes. Some, such as the 488 Pista and 812 Competizione, have earned a rightful place in the Prancing Horse’s recent pantheon. Ferrari’s ‘XX Programme’, on the other hand, offers a select group of expert client drivers extreme cars that are not homologated for the road, to drive on the very limit on the track. One such model is the FXX-K EVO. Ferrari has now drawn on these two different spheres of experience to create a Special Version that draws on the programme’s concepts to make it effectively a road-legal XX: the SF90 XX Stradale.
Ferrari decided to create a road-legal car which embodies the maximum expression of the two programmes’ engineering concepts. The SF90 XX Stradale is based on the supercar in the range, the SF90 Stradale, and raises its already impressively exhilarating track and on-the-limit driving experience to new heights. With 1,030 cv (30 more than the SF90 Stradale), advanced software, and radical aerodynamics, the SF90 XX Stradale features a fixed rear spoiler—Ferrari’s first since the F50—delivering 530 kg of downforce at 250 km/h.
The SF90 XX Stradale’s design is a striking evolution of the SF90 Stradale, with a clear emphasis on aerodynamics and racing-inspired aesthetics. The addition of the rear wing and the sleeker tail volume not only enhance its performance but also give it a more aggressive stance. The larger air intakes and imposing rear vents contribute to improved cooling and airflow management, while the trimaran-style rear section with dual central exhausts adds to its distinctive presence.
The SF90 XX Stradale’s interior emphasizes a racing-focused design with weight-saving solutions. Simplified door panels, tunnel, and mats use technical fabrics, while carbon fiber enhances functionality. The dashboard combines Alcantara® and technical fabric, reflecting its motorsport inspiration.
The SF90 XX Stradale’s soundtrack was redesigned to become the ultimate encapsulation of the car’s racing soul. To produce an even fuller, richer sound and celebrate the harmonics right across the V8’s rev range, the hot tube system was optimized. This transmits the combustion pulsations into the cabin, highlighting the higher frequencies to reveal the ultimate evolution of the Ferrari V8.
